Casino Guru SiGMA Europe 2024

SiGMA East Europe, also known as SiGMA Budapest, has just concluded, with Casino Guru’s team returning from the event elated from having had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise and participate in one of the most important forums for the industry.

The event’s draw has seen Casino Guru send in a small army of team members, with 29 people attending from the team, the first time that the company has had such a large representation at a conference. SiGMA Budapest proved to be a perfect opportunity for new members to cut their teeth and understand how such gatherings work. Casino Guru Casino Analyst Žaneta Hrudkay said that she saw SiGMA East Europe as an enriching experience:

"I’m grateful to the company for the opportunity to witness what conferences are like. For those of us who hadn’t attended a conference before, I believe it was a very pleasant and insightful example. Since Maria took me to a meeting with a casino affiliate, I also had the chance to see what real meetings with them look like, not just virtual ones."

The forum has brought together an outstanding crop of affiliates, speakers, and delegates, running in the thousands. The recent event saw 9,000 attendees, 5,000 affiliates, and more than 200speakers who embody success in the competitive industry, as it undergoes one of its most tumultuous periods, ushered in by rapidly changing regulation, Google algorithmic updates, and overall shift towards consumer protection.

Dep. Casino Data Team Lead & Complaint Specialist Adam MacLean commented on the event as a more streamlined opportunity for the Casino Guru team to do proper networking and pay specific attention to partners across dozens of meetings.

"Sigma Budapest was a smaller event than some other conferences I have attended, but this proved to be a positive. I found I had more time to devote to each meeting I had, and so I could discuss things with our partners in more detail than we would perhaps usually have time for."

Additionally, this event served as a great introduction for some of our newer colleagues who had not attended a conference previously. The atmosphere was a little more relaxed, so it was easy for all to enjoy everything the conference had to offer!

As Casino Guru reviews and continuously assesses more than 7,000 casinos, the team has found it paramount to descend upon SiGMA Budapest in droves and tap into the event’s energy and crucial insights.

Casino Guru Casino Analyst Maria Pindarova remarked that the Casino Guru team has been in the process of recruiting more team members to help cope with the number of casinos to ensure that they are updated faster than ever and emphasized the importance of building strong relationships on the floor at SiGMA East Europe.

"Building relationships is key. It makes it easier to explain why we’re requesting changes in T&Cs and other areas, as well as to present our Fair Gambling Codex," she said.

Casino Guru, known for its robust monitoring and practice of assigning rating based on the proprietary Safety Index, has used SiGMA Budapest to engage in relationship building and aid operators that need help in figuring out the best industry practices, particularly when it comes to building a sustainable business that prioritizes player safety.

"We attended the conference mainly to build relationships, aid, and advise operators who are committed to improving and enhancing the safety of online gambling. It was also a great opportunity for our new colleagues, who joined us in recent months, to familiarize themselves with the field," Pindarova added.

SiGMA Budapest proved a good opportunity for the team to continue learning and grow its expertise in handling player complaints, weigh in on best casino practices, further enhance the Casino Guru brand and its understanding of the industry.

In building the world’s foremost database on casino websites, Casino Guru has taken a no-compromise approach which requires daily commitment and unwavering determination. The opportunity to attend SiGMA Budapest in such large numbers was another chance for Casino Guru to grow its expertise in this crucial part of the gambling industry, allowing the company to provide players with the most reliable and up-to-date information.

The journey for Casino Guru does not stop at SiGMA East Europe. The team is heading for SBC Lisbon, bringing a select group of team members, and Casino Guru is also gearing up for SiGMA Europe in Malta this year.
