The leading global betting operator, Betsson, announced a new sponsorship, bolstering its footprint in Latin America. The company confirmed on Thursday it joined forces with Atlético Nacional, the most successful Colombian football club. As a result of the new collaboration, Betsson was designated as the team's new global main sponsor and will appear on their jerseys.
The latest three-year collaboration with Atlético Nacional, the football club that is also known as Los Verdolagas, reaffirms Betsson's dedication to supporting the growth of sports across Latin America. Moreover, the collaboration underlines the operator's plan to grow its presence in the region.
Under the terms of the new deal, Betsson's logo will appear on Atletico Nacional's men's and women's team jerseys starting from the 2024 football season in Colombia. The start of the season will mark an important period for the football team as it will focus on winning as many tournaments and trophies as possible. Besides the financial support for the club and brand exposure for Betsson, the operator vowed to deliver exceptional experiences for sports fans and bettors alike.
Jesper Svensson, the CEO of Betsson Operations, revealed that the company is proud to team up with the most successful football club in Colombia. "We are honored to be the main sponsor of the legendary Rey de Copas (King of Cups), the biggest and most successful team in the history of Colombian football," he explained in a statement.
Svensson added that the Atlético Nacional sponsorship comes just after the company celebrated its 60th anniversary and reaffirmed its position as a top supporter of sports across Latin America. "Recognizing the immense passion stirred by Nacional, we are committed to providing fans with unforgettable moments, offering them a football experience like never before," he said in conclusion.
The collaboration brought excitement for the leading football club which released a statement outlining: "We welcome Betsson with open arms." A representative of the football club explained that Betsson has a growing presence in Latin America and across the globe. Finally, the representative predicted success for the leading betting operator, as well as Atlético Nacional.
Besides Los Verdolagas, Betsson has established other sponsorships with major teams for the region. Currently, the company is the main sponsor for Boca Juniors and Racing de Avellaneda, two leading teams in Argentina.
Renowned as the most successful Colombian football club, Atlético Nacional has won two Libertadores Cups and a total of 33 titles since it was founded back in 1947. Undoubtedly, the sponsorship with Betsson will play a key role in the future of the club over the next three years.
