The 2026 NFL season is now well underway and fans in the stadiums, at tailgates and watching from home will all have likely bought their favorite players new jersey or at least thought about who they want on their back.
Now, the team at Casino Guru has analyzed the data to predict which NFL player jerseys are likely to sell the most this season, while also revealing which jerseys are currently the most in-demand across US states.
The study combined the NFLPA’s verified 2025–26 player merchandise sales rankings with current Google search demand to predict the best-selling NFL jerseys of 2026. Previous sales were weighted at 70% and current search demand at 30% to create a Projected Jersey Sales Index score out of 100.
State-by-state findings were analyzed separately using current Google search demand, revealing the player's jersey generating the most interest in each state.
Buffalo Bills QB, Josh Allen, leads the NFL as the player predicted to sell the most jerseys this season. The number 17 topped the NFLPA’s overall player merchandise sales rankings last season and comes in as one of the most searched-for players for jerseys in the country with a search demand of 94.1, helping him achieve a perfect Projected Jersey Sales Index score of 100.
Predicted to sell the second most jerseys this season is Drake Maye. The Patriots QB has seen a huge rise in popularity after jumping 30 places to finish second in the NFLPA's overall merchandise sales rankings last season and was the league's number one jersey seller in 2025. This popularity doesn't seem to have slowed down, with search demand for his jersey increasing 109% year-on-year and scoring a predicted jersey sales index score of 82.9/100.
Jayden Daniels is predicted to sell the third most NFL jerseys this season, with a sales index score of 69.5/100. The Commanders quarterback finished fifth in the NFLPA's overall merchandise sales rankings last season and was also among the league's top five best-selling jerseys. The number 5 has the highest current jersey search demand of any player analyzed, and it is also the most in-demand across 10 states.
Rounding out the top 5 are Caleb Williams and Patrick Mahomes, with respective sales index scores of 67.3/100 and 45.2/100. Williams the Bears QB, has seen the biggest surge in popularity of any player analyzed, with his search demand increasing 242% year-on-year. Mahomes, however, has seen his search demand drop by 14% from last year but still finds himself within the top 5.
A major aspect of the study was looking at search demand for NFL players' jerseys throughout the US to get a grasp of which players' shirts fans were searching for. This allowed us to reveal the most in-demand NFL jersey in each state, with six states excluded due to a lack of search data to determine a leader.
Jayden Daniels not only finds himself predicted to sell the third most NFL jerseys this season but also has the most popular jersey in 10 US states according to search demand; Virginia, Maryland and Louisiana are the states where he has his highest demand.
Josh Allen follows, topping six states including New York, while Drake Maye dominates New England, ranking first across five states including Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire. Bo Nix also leads five states, including Colorado and Oregon.
Caleb Williams rounds out the top five, having the most in-demand jersey across four states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Kansas.
An interesting find is Aaron Rodgers; the QB left the Green Bay Packers four years ago however he still finds himself with the most in-demand jersey in Wisconsin ahead of any current Packers players. He also leads search demand in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Now where does Travis Kelce find himself in this study? He has the most popular NFL jersey in Missouri ahead of teammate Patrick Mahomes, one of only three non-quarterbacks who has a state's most in-demand jersey.
Finally, Chiefs TE wife Taylor Swift also makes an appearance in the study. Searches for "Taylor Swift jersey" generate around 77% of the search demand of the most-searched NFL player jersey nationally, which would place her inside the top five most in-demand jerseys if compared directly with NFL players. Search demand for Taylor Swift jerseys is also on early 2x as high as it is for husband Travis Kelce jerseys across the US. In New Jersey, she leads interest with more than double those than the state’s leading NFL player, Jaxson Dart.
The study analyzed NFL players, using Google search demand for "[player name] jersey" between June 16 and September 25, 2026.
To predict which jerseys will be the most popular this season, current search demand was combined with the NFLPA’s verified 2025–26 player merchandise sales rankings. Last season’s sales were given a 70% weighting, with current search demand accounting for the remaining 30%, creating a Projected Jersey Sales Index.
Search demand was also analyzed by state to reveal the most in-demand NFL player jersey across the US, while searches from the same period in 2025 were compared to identify the players seeing the biggest rise and fall in interest.
Where there was not enough reliable search data to determine a state leader or measure year-on-year change, the result was excluded.
