The official state lottery of Indiana, the Hoosier Lottery, is looking for one fortunate winner who scored a life-changing prize only recently.
The lottery said earlier this week that lottery players who purchased tickets in Bartholomew County should check them.
This is because one winning ticket, purchased at Jack’s Place at 910 3rd St. in Columbus, matched the winning numbers from Hoosier Lotto's drawing on Saturday.
The drawing, which took place on August 16, saw winning numbers 1, 21, 26, 31, 33 and 34 drawn.
The winning ticket, which matched correctly all numbers from the recent drawing, hit the game's jackpot for a mind-boggling $9.9m payday.
Not much is known about the fortunate winner besides the location from which the ticket was purchased.
The life-changing $9.9m jackpot marks the third lottery jackpot from Hoosier Lotto in Indiana for the year so far.
The two other times when lucky winners scored jackpots both occurred in March.
First, one player scored $42.5m on March 12 from Hoosier Lotto, followed by another jackpot win of $1.2m on March 22.
"Hoosier Lotto tickets should be checked carefully as one entry matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing, making it the third Hoosier Lotto jackpot win of the year," a statement released by the Hoosier Lottery reads.
Drawings for Hoosier Lotto take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at approximately 11:00 PM ET.
To participate in the drawing that takes place on the same day, players need to purchase their tickets by 10:39 PM ET.
The cost per ticket is $2 and the game is available at retailers across Indiana.
Lottery players can either select their own numbers or pick the game's Quick Pick option for random numbers.
To elevate the excitement further, Hoosier Lotto offers an extra option called +PLUS for an extra $1, which grants players a chance to win $1m or other prizes.
The overall odds of winning any prize from Hoosier Lotto are 1 in 6, while the overall odds for +PLUS are the same.
