Tipico US has become the first sportsbook and gaming company in the United States to seek and successfully pass the certification process for Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP) accreditation in New Jersey and Ohio. This is an important milestone in the company’s journey to demonstrating its commitment to responsible gambling practices and a firm focus on consumer protection.

iCAP is awarded by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the organization behind Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and a body that seeks to administer treatment, research, and prevent problem gambling in the United States.

The iCAP accreditation is also based on guidance from the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards which hopes to educate businesses on how to protect their consumers and shield them from harm associative with gambling.

Achieving the certification is a long and scrupulous process which leaves no stone unturned and requires from companies to consistently show care for their players and customers. The NCPG thoroughly reviews aspects of a company’s performance in this segment such as employee training, research and education, and customer support initiatives.

Commenting on this achievement, Bryan Schroeder, SVP of Compliance & Legal at Tipico, said that the company was thrilled to be receiving what it sees as a meaningful award which further attests to Tipico’s commitment to fair play.

"I am incredibly proud of our team for rallying around our efforts to continuously improve safety and clarity," Schroeder said, adding that the company remained committed to providing players with some of the most worthwhile and safe experiences in the industry.

NCPG Executive Director Keith Whyte has similarly welcomed the accreditation and said that it was a clear testament to Tipico’s commitment to responsible play.

"We commend Tipico for the unwavering commitment to the safety of their users and for setting an exemplary standard for the industry," he said. This distinction is hardly the first time that Tipico has been on the radar for a strong commitment to responsible gambling.

Earlier this year, the sportsbook launched its Fair Play Pledge which is another long-term project that comes prompted by iCAP. Tipico seeks to better educate its players about all aspects of its offer, including odds and promotions, limits, and cool-off periods, as well as offer 24/7 human support to players so that they can always be in the know and protected.
