The collective dedicated to tackling problem gambling in the United Kingdom known as TalkBanStop has announced that it has received a funding extension from GambleAware over the next three years. Thus, TalkBanStop can continue to provide a variety of solutions, support, and free tools for people who are struggling to control their gambling habits.

The initiative is a joint collaboration between three organizations that are dedicated to helping at-risk and problem gamblers overcome their addiction and destructive habits. The partners, GamCare, Gamban and GAMSTOP,have formed an alliance that brings their expertise to elevate the standard for customer production with the deployment of blocking software that is available to consumers for free.

So far, 12,000 people have installed Gamban’s blocking tool for free. The initiative was launched back in 2020, combining the efforts of some of the most notable consumer protection-focused organizations in the United Kingdom. The trio decided to bring to the table their best features.

Thus, GamCare offered support via trained advisors, GAMSTOP focused on adding vulnerable consumers with its self-exclusion program, and Gamban introduced its efficient blocking software to more consumers. The collaboration has so far been deemed a success, so the extension of funding from GambleAware would allow the collective to continue working on tackling various issues in gambling.

Thanks to the renewed funding, the companies will continue to provide the free blocking software licenses as well as raise awareness for how useful it can be to use the TalkBanStop services which focus on "three layers" of support. Commenting on this opportunity, GamCare CEO Anna Hemmings said:

"We’re delighted to secure long-term, sustainable funding for the TalkBanStop partnership and to continue delivering towards our shared aspiration of reducing gambling-related harms. "

She hailed the significance of the partnership and the great help it has been for consumers. Hemmings said that GamCare was very excited about the next three years to follow. TalkBanStop has been one of the best chances for vulnerable consumers to break away from their destructive habits and stop, she added.

The renewed funding was also welcomed by GambleAware Chief Commissioning Officer Anna Hargrave who said that enabling people to access help resources was essential to tackling problem gambling. She said that the organization’s experience with the National Gambling Support Network meant that everyone understood the importance of making tools available and accessible to people.

"Since its launch, the TalkBanStop partnership has provided vital support to thousands of people experiencing gambling harms, with its layered approach offering a range of tools to help tackle the often complex needs of those who need help most," Hargrave concluded.

Tackling problem gambling has been an important part of the industry. Recently, Mindway AI teamed up with AnonyMind to create a comprehensive solution for preventing, treating, and overcoming gambling addiction that relies on spotting the problem early and using tailored and personalized treatment options to overcome it.
