The PGA TOUR has become the latest sports body to join the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)’s Leadership Circle. The two organizations have been collaborating for a while now, with the PGA TOUR now renewing its Platinum membership with the NCPG which allows the latter to continue advocating and championing problem gambling awareness.

The extended partnership comes from the PGA TOUR in a bid to help the NCPG champion innovation, sustain its overall operations, and continue on its mission of driving awareness for responsible gambling and problem gambling in the United States. To further help the NCPG strengthen its reach, the PGA TOUR is rolling out a dedicated marketing campaign in time for Problem Gambling Awareness Month organized by the not-for-profit organization.

PGA TOUR is going to feature problem gambling education and resources across its marketing messages throughout all of its viable messaging platforms. The PGA TOUR VP of Gaming Scott Warfield welcomed the opportunity to help educate fanbases about responsible gambling, which will be a priority for the TOUR’s sports betting strategy.

"The National Council on Problem Gambling is committed to those same causes, and we are proud to join their Leadership Circle as we continue to promote the core values of responsible wagering," Warfield said. The extended partnership was similarly welcomed by NCPG Executive Director Keith Whyte who said that the National Council was grateful for the level of support demonstrated by the PGA TOUR and looked forward to what collaborations the two organizations can embark on.

He explained that the strong reach of PGA TOUR’s marketing campaigns with audiences in the United States would help boost the reach of NCPG’s own messaging during Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and beyond that. This comes at an important moment as a record number of adults have placed a bet on the Super Bowl and now live in a place where sports betting is legal.

The increase in the availability of sports gambling has raised concerns about problem gambling and gambling-related harm which may often remain neglected if it’s not for the efforts of not-for-profit organizations such as the NCPG. Now, sports bodies and operators are joining in and sending an unequivocal message that they too are interested in keeping consumers safe.

The American Gaming Association noted that thanks to the mass legalization of the industry, the level of illegal gambling in the United States has been declining steadily with the majority of Americans seeing responsible gambling messaging over the past year. The TOUR Tour also collaborates with US Integrity and Genius Sports to ensure that the integrity of events sanctioned by the organization are run free of manipulation.
