Louisiana’s go-to casino and hotel, located on the West Bank of Jefferson Parish and one of the properties operated by PENN Entertainment, Boomtown Casino and Hotel New Orleans, strengthened its culinary team with a fresh appointment.

On Thursday, the hotel and casino resort confirmed the appointment of Jeff Mattia, the renowned Chef with solid experience, to the role of Executive Chef.

The new Executive Chef will oversee the venue’s culinary strategy

In this strategic role at Boomtown Casino and Hotel New Orleans, Mattia will leverage his decades of experience.

At the Westbank casino, the Executive Chef will be in charge of the four primary restaurants, NOLA Steak, Bayou Market Express, Asia and The Sportsbook.

Bringing exceptional leadership and award-winning culinary skills, Chef Mattia will play a major role in leading the hotel and casino’s culinary strategy.

His responsibilities will include menu development and overseeing vital processes related to the operations of the restaurants, among other things.

Early in his career, Mattia completed culinary training at the Marine Corp before studying at Johnson and Wales University.

While he has significant experience within companies in the gaming industry, the famous Chef was also part of a range of celebrity chef operations across the United States.

Throughout his career, spanning more than 20 years, Mattia has proven his talent, dedication, and leadership.

Recognized as an AAA Mobile Diamond Award Winner at Mohegan Sun and CraftSteak, Mattia has showcased his exceptional skills as Chef and Managing Partner at Pyre BBQ.

His lengthy professional background includes senior-level roles as an Assistant Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Hotels of New Orleans, as well as an Executive Chef role at the Royal Sonesta, among others.

Kathryn Jenkins, Boomtown Casino and Hotel New Orleans’ General Manager, shared her excitement about the appointment of Mattia as Executive Chef, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
