The oldest operating hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, is now the new home of one of the most beloved mechanical horse racing games in Sin City’s history, Sigma Derby.
The move of Sigma Derby to Golden Gate follows the recent Fremont Street Experience on June 16, which attracted hundreds of spectators.
The iconic mechanical horse racing game has officially moved from the D Las Vegas, which happens to be Golden Gate’s sister property, to Golden Gate.
The relocation brings a historic game that has been popular since the 1980s and happens to be one of the last still in operation, at the city’s first hotel.
Originally, Golden Gate opened its doors back in 1906 and was known as Hotel Nevada.
On the other hand, Sigma Derby has been popular for decades, offering engaging and interactive gameplay.
Delivering an unmatched social atmosphere, the mechanical horse racing attraction enables players to place coin wagers on miniature horses that race around a circular track.
The game stands out with a communal gaming experience that hasn’t changed in decades and continues to engage with fans from across the globe.
Derek Stevens, Golden Gate’s owner and CEO, spoke with excitement about the latest announcement, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"Sigma Derby is more than just a game, it's a piece of Las Vegas history," he said.
Moreover, Stevens pointed out: "There's no better place for it than Golden Gate. As the original hotel in Las Vegas, Golden Gate has spent more than a century preserving the stories, traditions and experiences that helped shape this city."
Finally, the executive explained: "Sigma Derby belongs in that legacy, and we're excited to give it a home where longtime fans and future generations can continue enjoying it for years to come."
