One of the most-anticipated sports events in the United States, the Super Bowl, wrapped up after a win of the Philadelphia Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs. A report released by the Campaign for Fairer Gambling ahead of the beloved tournament warned that illegal operators may dominate Super Bowl wagering.
The report was compiled by Yield Sec and warned that out of $6.4bn wagers, only 25% or $1.6bn would go to legal betting operators across the country. While that's a grim projection suggesting that some 75% of all bets may go to illegal operators, a post-competition report is expected to shed light soon.
On the bright side, FanDuel recorded a whopping 16.6m bets on the Super Bowl this year. During the Big Game, the leading betting and gaming company recorded three million active users.
