A lottery player in Michigan who liked the popular Fantasy 5 game was expecting a win in the realm of several dollars.

Instead, the woman, who chose to remain anonymous, was surprised by a life-enhancing jackpot of more than $300,000, the Michigan Lottery announced Thursday.

Fantasy 5 was one of the player's favorite lottery games

The 54-year-old woman, whose identity wasn't publicly disclosed, purchased her winning ticket at the Belleville Amoco at 10950 Belleville Road in Belleville.

Undoubtedly, this was the lucky day of the Washtenaw County woman, considering that she matched the winning numbers from Fantasy 5's July 12 drawing, 13-18-23-28-33.

Matching correctly the winning numbers, the fortunate woman won the game's jackpot for a sweet $309,989 payday.

In an interview for a Lottery official, the woman admitted that Fantasy 5 is one of her favorite lottery games.

"I usually buy my tickets online, but I went out for breakfast that morning, so I stopped at a store to buy a ticket while I was out," the woman said, recalling the day she purchased the winning ticket.

The Washtenaw County woman said that she doesn't usually check the tickets right after the game's drawing.

However, on the night of the Fantasy 5 drawing, she purchased a ticket for, she admitted to watching TV and decided to scan her ticket with the Michigan Lottery app.

While the 54-year-old woman admitted to expecting to see a $10 win, she was "stunned" when a $309,989 win popped up on the screen.

"This jackpot prize is such a blessing," the lucky winner exclaimed.

The fortunate woman recently visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her big win.

Asked if she had any plans regarding the unexpected windfall, the woman said that she intends to help her daughter with her student loans and pay some bills.

As for the rest of the windfall, the winner said she will save it.

Drawings of the popular game take place every day

The cost per Fantasy 5 play is $1 and players have a chance of winning a prize between $1 and a growing jackpot.

The game's drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 PM.

Players who want to participate in the same-day drawing need to purchase their tickets online or via retail outlets no later than 7:08 PM on the same day.

Paying an extra $1 for the game's EZmatch feature grants players a chance to win instantly a prize of up to $500.

At the time of writing, the Fantasy 5 jackpot is an estimated $128,000.
