Michigan man claims second Fantasy 5 jackpot

Some lottery players may play for years without winning any meaningful prizes, but others, such as one Mount Pleasant man, have been blessed by luck twice.

On Monday, the Michigan Lottery announced that an incredibly lucky Mount Pleasant man, who had already won $115,000 from Fantasy 5, recently scored another prize of a similar size.

Winning once, the fortunate man kept playing Fantasy 5 and scored another jackpot

The lucky 61-year-old man won the Fantasy 5 jackpot in May last year, taking home a sweet $115,000 prize.

Now, about a year later, he scored big once again, taking down the game's jackpot on May 10 for $110,000 payday.

The lucky winner purchased his $10 ticket at Oil City EZ mart on 48 South Coleman Road in Mount Pleasant.

He picked the numbers 02-03-07-22-28 and ultimately won the Fantasy 5 jackpot for a second time.

The 61-year-old winner recently spoke to an official from the Michigan Lottery.

"I've continued to play Fantasy 5 since I won last year, but I never thought I would win big a second time," he admitted.

The fortunate man added: "The morning after the drawing, I scanned my Fantasy 5 ticket on the Lottery app and was stunned when $110,000 came up on the screen. I still can't believe I won again!"

Winning the first jackpot, the Mount Pleasant man said that he used the money to help his family and buy a camper.

After claiming his recent $110,000 Fantasy 5 Double Play top prize, the man said that he intends to "retire and live comfortably."

Not unexpectedly, the lottery player admitted: "I plan to keep playing and hopefully be back claiming a big prize for the third time!"

Fantasy 5 offers a range of features that grant players a chance to win different prizes

The cost per play for Fantasy 5 is $1 and game drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 PM.

With each ticket, players have a chance to win a prize between $1 and a jackpot that starts at $100,000.

An extra $1 per play for the game's EZmatch feature grants players a chance to instantly win a prize of up to $500.

On the other hand, an extra $1 for Fantasy 5's Double Play gives players a chance to win a prize of up to $110,000 via the game's nightly Double Play drawing.

In Fantasy 5, players need to match five numbers between 1 and 39 to win the jackpot.

At the time of writing, Fantasy 5's jackpot is an estimated $110,000.
