One lucky player in Illinois managed to scoop a six-figure prize that could change their life. The player who won the Lucky Day Lotto playing online has not been named publicly by the lottery, but details about his or her win are now known.
The player in question won the $650,000 jackpot drawn on Monday, July 7, with five winning numbers: 13, 30, 33, 36, and 43.
With nearly $690,000 prizes dished out by the Illinois Lottery in the Monday drawing, and 15,000 winners, the mysterious ticket holder who bagged the lion’s share has definitely a lot to be happy about.
They purchased the ticket using the lottery’s dedicated app, which has made it easier to buy tickets on the go and not miss lottery draws due to logistics. Illinois has also been one of the states to dish out some of the biggest prizes in lottery history.
The Prairie State is habitually minting a millionaire. In May, a player who posed for a photo-op, and who was dubbed "King of the Castle," brought home $1,348,786. He was playing Cash Castle, winning the eye-watering sum in the process.
Yet, he is hardly alone. At the end of May, one player managed to scoop up $1,673,909 playing the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot, one of the largest jackpots recorded in the lottery’s history to date.
But even these wins pale in comparison with the $10,000,000 won by a player in Illinois who bought a scratch-off ticket at the Stop N Shop located at 2501 North Huffman Boulevard in Rockford. The player’s identity was never made public, but they did claim their prize.
