One player in Illinois has much to be happy about, after they turned a bet on the FastPlay Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game into a $1.67m payout. The eye-watering sum was fetched on the game’s grand prize and is one of the biggest progressive jackpots registered in the state.
This is also the ninth player to have won the grand prize since the game was introduced a year ago. The lottery did not reveal much about the new winner, but rather focused on providing details about the FastPlay game itself.
Overall, there were 6,300 winning tickets sold on Tuesday, May27, the lottery said in a press statement shared with media outlets, but it did not provide any further details as to who the winner was or where the prize had dropped.
Overall, the Illinois Lottery has leaned heavily into the FastPlay game genre, with the lottery featuring more than 35 such titles, which make it easy for consumers to get onboard and play. There is no scratching and no waiting for winning numbers, the lottery specifies.
The latest prize was won online through the iLottery platform and is the latest in a series of big Illinois wins to have happened over the past weeks and months. Another lucky soul managed to fetch $850,000 winning the Lucky Day Lotto jackpot.
This is hardly the largest amount to have been won in the state this month, however! In early May, one person bagged a $10m payday, buying a lottery ticket from the Stop N Shop located at 2501 North Huffman Boulevard in Rockford.
