A brother and sister who purchased MONOPOLY X20 lottery tickets each won prizes in Maryland.

While the brother won $25, the prize his sister won was significantly bigger, $50,000.

Quick stop results in top prize win

The Maryland Lottery confirmed the win late last week, revealing that a Harford County woman scored one of the top prizes from MONOPOLY X20.

The names of the lucky winners were not revealed, but the Lottery confirmed that the winning tickets were purchased at Clinton Crossings Exxon in Prince George's County.

The fortunate woman's payday came after her brother was driving her home.

Known as the family's "go-to guy," the winner's brother asked her if she wanted to make a stop before heading home.

Initially, the woman said that she was in a hurry and declined the request to stop anywhere.

However, at some point, the Harford County woman asked her brother to make a quick stop.

Knowing her sister, the brother was aware that this wasn't going to be a quick stop.

His friendly sister was chatting with some people at the gas station before her sibling told her: "Let's go!" Then, in a hurry, the woman decided to buy five lottery tickets.

But why did she purchase MONOPOLY X20 tickets? Because her sibling researched lottery tickets and identified ones that had a high number of remaining top prizes.

Indeed, that proved to be a winning move, considering that she scored one of the seven outstanding top prizes of $50,000 each.

The lucky winner and her brother scratched off their tickets when each of them was at home.

One of the tickets that belonged to her brother showed a $25 win.

This is when he received a call from his sister, who told him "I got the big one."

The two siblings used the Maryland Lottery's mobile app to scan the tickets and confirm their winnings.

"We’ve never seen so many zeros on this app," the lucky winners recalled.

Six top prizes are up for grabs from MONOPOLY X20

The $5 MONOPOLY X20 scratch-off ticket was introduced early in January this year.

The game grants players 17 chances to win a prize between $5 and a top prize of $50,000.

After the latest win, six top prizes remain in play.

The overall odds of winning any prize from MONOPOLY X20 are 1 in 3.77.
