A fortunate lottery player is looking forward to helping his family after nearly missing a multi-million-dollar prize.
The winner, a dad from Queensland, holds one out of a total of two division one winning entries for The Lott’s Saturday Gold Lotto game.
The fortunate player, a Sunnybank dad, purchased his 12-game System 7 entry via The Lott’s official app.
Entering the Saturday Gold Lotto drawing on Saturday, April 18, 2026, he emerged as one out of two winners in division one.
The Saturday Gold Lotto drawing 4669 saw winning numbers 8, 41, 3, 18, 39 and 40, along with supplementary numbers 32 and 13 drawn.
As noted, across Australia, there were a total of two division one winning entries, one held by the Queensland man, and one purchased in New South Wales.
Notably, each entry is entitled to a life-changing jackpot of AU$3,217,005.49 ($2.3m).
The fortunate Queensland man nearly missed the big prize. Despite looking at his tickets, he initially missed the life-changing win.
Then, he was contacted by a representative from The Lott who gave him the good news.
Hearing that he had just won an AU$3.2m jackpot, the Brisbane resident was in disbelief.
"I’m struggling to think. I haven’t even had my coffee and I can’t stop shaking. I’ve been shaking for hours," the winner admitted.
Moreover, the player said: "It’s amazing. I didn’t even notice the win! I had checked my tickets yesterday and I completely missed the win. I’ve been too busy at work to look at my tickets properly."
Feeling overwhelmed with excitement, the fortunate player said that he needs to sit down, adding that it is not every day that he is told that he had just won a multi-million-dollar jackpot.
The incredibly lucky man added that he is very happy and said that he plans to help his family with the newfound fortune.
"We will be able to buy a house which is so exciting," the winner said in conclusion.
