An incredibly lucky woman from Queensland, Australia, nearly missed a sweet million-dollar jackpot after forgetting to put her glasses on and misreading the win for AU$10.
On Wednesday, The Lott confirmed that a Mackay mum scored the single division one winning entry from Weekday Windfall, taking home a life-changing AU$1m ($667,000) prize.
The lucky woman's winning 5-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott's official mobile application.
The Mackay mum played Weekday Windfall's draw 4635 on Monday, December 8, 2025.
On that particular drawing, the winning numbers were 26, 40, 6, 39, 37 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 7.
Surprisingly, the Mackay mum, whose identity wasn't publicly disclosed, is the sole player to score a division one winning entry from draw 4635.
This means that she is looking forward to the entire prize of AU$1m ($667,000).
What makes the win even more exciting is that the windfall comes just ahead of Christmas, with the Queenslander now looking forward to truly magical holidays.
Data released by The Lott reveals that the division one winning entries have so far hit 407 in 2025.
On the other hand, Weekday Windfall games alone helped make 94 millionaires across Australia in FY25.
When reached out to by an official from The Lott, the Queenslander initially missed the Lottery's calls.
The winner explained that she has a subscription ticket service, enabling her to "set and forget" and hope that participating will bring her a big win.
As it turns out, this was a successful move, considering that it brought the lucky woman the life-changing AU$1m ($667,000) prize.
"I just have a subscription. It’s good because I just set it and forget it. I always say, ‘You’ve got to be in it to win it!’," the fortunate woman explained.
The winner acknowledged that while she missed The Lott's calls, "something" was telling her to check her tickets.
Surprisingly, when she had a "quick glance" initially, she thought she won only AU$10.
"I had a quick glance, but I didn’t have my glasses on, so I thought I’d won $10. Then, when I had a chance to look at it properly, I went ‘Holy moly!’. I just cried and cried with joy," the winner explained.
Realizing what life-changing prize she had won, the woman admitted to feeling happy and ecstatic.
The Mackay mum said that she always wanted to have her own home as something to leave for her children as a legacy and this lottery windfall will help her achieve this.
Finally, she thanked the lottery and said she is very grateful.
