  • A recent TattsLotto drawing produced a total of eight division one winning entries
  • Six of the entries came from Victoria, while one each came from Western Australia and Queensland
  • One of the winners, a tradesman from Hampton, was clueless about his life-changing win for a week after keeping the ticket in his pocket

A handyman from Hampton, Victoria, Australia, was walking around with a winning lottery ticket worth six figures without realizing for a week.

On Monday, The Lott uncovered details regarding the fortunate winner, who scored nearly AU$800,000 from a recent TattsLotto drawing.

Hampton resident takes home one out of eight division one winning prizes from TattsLotto

The incredibly lucky man purchased his ticket at Bluff Road News @ Lotto, located at 412 Bluff Road in Hampton East.

The man entered TattsLotto's draw 4629 on November 29, 2025.

The winning numbers for that drawing were 22, 10, 17, 5, 44 and 36, while supplementary numbers were 3 and 11.

Surprisingly, the man scored a division one winning entry from TattsLotto's draw 4629 for a sweet AU$791,000 ($524,000) payday.

Across Australia, that particular TattsLotto draw produced a total of eight division one winning entries, with each entitled to the same life-enhancing AU$791,000 ($524,000) prize.

The winning entry held by the Hampton resident, which is one of Melbourne's suburbs, marks one out of a total of six entries from the state of Victoria.

Two other entries, one from each Western Australia and Queensland, also scored life-enhancing prizes from TattsLotto's draw 4629 on November 29, 2025.

"I had no idea I’d won until I went to replay my weekly ticket at the newsagency"

The lucky winner's entry wasn't registered with The Lott Members Club, which means that the Lottery had no way to contact the winner and notify him of the big windfall.

Had the tradesman registered his entry, The Lott would've reached him via phone and email to give him the good news but in his case, they had to wait until he checked the ticket.

Interestingly, the lucky man didn't realize he won big until the next week when he decided to check his ticket when buying a new one.

The man recalled: "It was so unexpected. I had no idea I’d won until I went to replay my weekly ticket at the newsagency."

Moreover, the lucky winner pointed out: "It’s a bit of a sunny routine I do without thinking, so when the team member said, ‘You’ve got a win that’s too big to pay out.’. I just went ‘Holy s***!’."

The tradesman admitted that his winning ticket sat in his wallet for a week or so and added: "It’s scary to think about because I could’ve easily lost it."

Unlike some winners, the fortunate Hampton resident said he plans to use the money wisely, confirming he will discuss the matter with an accountant and consider investing.

Still, he said he plans to treat his family to an overseas holiday and celebrate the big win.
