Powerball players who bought their recent tickets in Delaware better check them, as a single winner can now lay claim to the $230.8m jackpot that dropped on Monday, April 6.
The winner secured the win with 7-24-37-42-57, and a Powerball with 5, and the ticket itself was bought at an Acme store at 460 E Main Street in Middletown, Delaware.
The winner may now opt for the lump sum or the annuity. Should he go with the one-off payment, he will have his jackpot reduced to $104.9m, and further down to $59.2m after all taxes are applied.
The annuity will retain much of the jackpot, with the total payout over 29 years hitting $131.4m.
There is a lot of debate about whether the lump sum is the best option, and lottery winners of such significant amounts are usually advised to reach out to a team of experts, which should include a financial planner, an accountant, and a lawyer.
Another Powerball drawing is due tonight, Wednesday, April 8, with the jackpot resetting at $20m.
