After scoring a life-enhancing six-figure lottery prize, one fortunate player started to run around in circles out of joy.
That's the case for a lucky Halifax County man who won a tier-two prize from the North Carolina Education Lottery's Stacks of Cash ticket.
The lucky man decided to give the $20 scratch-off ticket a try and purchased it at a convenience store called Cloud 9 on Premier Boulevard in Roanoke Rapids.
The Roanoke Rapids man wasted no time, scratched off the ticket and was surprised to see that he had just won $100,000.
"I just started running in circles around the store. Everybody in there was jumping up and down yelling," the lucky man said, recalling the moment of the win.
The winner then wanted to tell more people about the unexpected windfall and admitted to calling everyone he could think of.
The Halifax County man visited the North Carolina Education Lottery's headquarters to claim his big win.
After the relevant applicable state and federal taxes, his bank account increased by $72,016.
Asked about his plans for his newfound fortune, the lucky man said he intends to invest and pay bills.
