One young man plans to give back to his parents after winning a six-figure lottery prize.
That's the case for the fortunate man, who holds the 1st Prize winning entry in today's Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw, The Lott announced.
Hitting the 1st Prize, the fortunate Ringwood, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, resident, is looking forward to a sweet AU$200,000 ($141,000) prize.
The incredibly lucky young man purchased his entry of 10 consecutive numbers via The Lott's official app and ultimately emerged as the winner from the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1775.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot are popular lottery games in Australia.
As raffle-style games, there is no sharing of prizes, considering that there is a specific number of tickets for each draw.
Ahead of draw 1776, the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is estimated at AU$26.6m ($18.7m), while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot Prize is AU$1.28m ($902,200) for draw 11063.
Interestingly, when an official from The Lott tried to make contact with the Ringwood man, he initially hung up the phone.
Likely confused about the call and thinking it was just another spam call, the man still decided to check his lottery ticket.
This is when he realized that he had in fact, won the sweet AU$200,000 prize.
"Oh my goodness! I’m sorry for hanging up on you earlier," the lucky winner said when contacted by an official from The Lott once again.
The fortunate winner explained that he is together with his mum and they both are in disbelief.
"It’s amazing news that’s going to take a while to process. I can’t wait to celebrate with my family," he added.
The young man promised to treat his mum to "whatever she wants," explaining that he is grateful for everything his parents have done for him.
While he wants to give back to his parents, the young man also said he plans to invest a portion of the winnings and set some aside as savings.
