  • TattsLotto's drawing on Saturday resulted in three winning entries, each entitled to AU$2m
  • One fortunate player, a Drysdale retiree, initially thought that he won AU$2,000, but was stunned to learn the prize was in fact AU$2m
  • The winner's son-in-law told him to change his numbers, but as it turns out, those numbers brought him big fortune

An incredibly lucky lottery player who thought he had won a couple of thousand dollars was stunned after his ticket brought him a life-changing multi-million-dollar payout.

That's the case of a Drysdale, Victoria, resident, who scored a division one winning entry from TattsLotto's recent draw, The Lott announced Monday.

TattsLotto Saturday draw makes three fortunate players rich

The fortunate player holds one out of a total of three division one winning entries from TattsLotto's draw 4649 from Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Each of the division one winning entries is looking forward to a life-changing prize of AU$2,007,450.30 ($1.4m).

Besides the victorious Victorian, a division one winning entry was sold in New South Wales, as well as Western Australia.

TattsLotto's winning numbers on Saturday were 8, 9, 33, 27, 3 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 15.

The incredibly fortunate player's System 7 entry was purchased from Drysdale Lotto, Drysdale Village Shopping Centre, Shop 8 at Wyndham Street in Drysdale.

"I thought it was $2,000 not $2 million"

When contacted by an official from The Lott, the lucky retiree was stunned initially.

Laughing, the winner asked the official to repeat what was the sum of the jackpot he had just won.

"Oh god! I thought it was $2,000 not $2 million! I looked at the winning numbers in the paper and I thought to myself, ‘I’ve got most of those’. I got my ticket out and went through it," the winner added.

The lucky man admitted that he has been playing TattsLotto for the past five years.

Interestingly enough, the Drysdale resident explained that his son-in-law and his daughter started to operate a newsagency and this is how he began playing the game.

"It’s funny because my son-in-law would always tell me that my marked numbers weren’t good and that I should change them. He was wrong," the newly minted multi-millionaire added.

The TattsLotto player said that he will add his wife to the call and give her the good news.

"We’re really overwhelmed so we’re not too sure what we will do," the victorious Victorian added.

While the winner once again thanked the lottery official, he did not reveal if he had plans for his newfound fortune.
