A woman was dancing and screaming after a scratch-off ticket brought her a six-figure prize.
That’s the story of a Pikeville resident who scored one of the top prizes from the North Carolina Education Lottery’s $100,000 Cash Payday ticket.
The player decided to try her luck with the $30 scratch-off game.
She purchased her ticket at 919 Wireless and Vape on Goldsboro Street in Pikeville.
Little did she know that this $30 ticket would bring her a life-enhancing six-figure prize.
After purchasing the ticket, the woman decided to scratch it off in the store while she was together with her partner.
Once the $100,000 prize was revealed, the excitement was instant.
"We were doing our happy dance and screaming. Then we cried," the winner said in an interview with an official from the Lottery.
The fortunate player added: "I still don’t quite believe it."
Earlier this week, the Pikeville woman visited the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters to claim her newfound fortune.
After the applicable state and federal taxes, she collected $72,000 and change.
The incredibly lucky woman added that she plans to use the money to pay bills.
"Trust me this was needed," the winner outlined.
