An operation against illegal gambling resulted in the seizure of thousands of dollars and more than 200 illegal gambling machines in Florida.
The illegal gambling bust was conducted by the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) in collaboration with local law enforcement.
A total of three locations were raided across Lake County.
According to a public statement released by the FGCB, the name of the operation was "Calvin Coolidge," and it targeted illegal gambling locations in Leesburg and Umatilla.
The three addresses where raids took place last week were identified following complaints and an investigation, identifying the presence of unlawful gambling machines.
In Leesburg, FGCC executed search warrants at two addresses, Hot Seats located at 25327 U.S. Highway 27, Unit 202 and The Hub, located at 3805 West Main Street.
At the first suspected illegal gambling venue, FGCC agents seized 77 illegal gambling devices along with $35,621 in suspected proceeds from illegal gambling.
Two individuals received Notices to Appear over keeping a gambling house and possession of slot machines.
At the second location in Leesburg, agents uncovered and seized 98 illegal gambling machines along with $46,597 in cash.
Two more Notices to Appear were issued over the same offenses, the Commission said.
In a coordinated effort with the Lake County Sheriff's Office, FGCC agents raided the House of Treasure, located at 37826 FL-19 in Umatilla.
At this venue, 56 illegal gambling machines were seized, and this included fish tables and slots.
Some $75,619 in currency was also found and seized by law enforcement, while three Notices to Appear for keeping a gambling house and possession of slot machines were issued as well.
Alana Zimmer, FGCC's Executive Director, spoke about the latest raids.
"These enforcement actions demonstrate our commitment to protecting Florida communities and preserving the integrity of the state's gaming laws," she explained.
Finally, Zimmer pointed out: "Illegal gambling operations undermine lawful businesses and exploit patrons. FGCC will continue to work proactively with law enforcement partners to shut them down."
The recent, coordinated, multi-location enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of more than $157,000 in suspected illegal gambling proceeds.
In total, some 231 illegal gambling machines were also uncovered and seized.
The latest operation complements FGCC's ongoing efforts against illegal gambling across the state.
Near the end of 2025, the Commission confirmed that throughout the year, it has seized more than $14.4m in proceeds from illegal gambling as well as 6,725 illegal slot machines.
The aforementioned figures suggested a significant increase, considering that in 2024, the FGCC seized $7.1m in illegal gambling proceeds and 1,287 illegal gambling machines.
