That’s the story of one Oakland County player, who scored a life-changing prize from the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky Coins Disco Pig online instant game.

The lottery winner used money she received as a gift

The player, who chose to remain anonymous, decided to give the popular online instant game a try.

A few days earlier, it was the fortunate woman’s birthday, and she received a card with some money from her aunt.

"My aunt sent me a card with money in it for my birthday, which was a few days prior, so I used the money buy an online game card," the winner said in an interview for the Michigan Lottery.

The 47-year-old woman tapped into Lucky Coin Disco Pig and at some point decided to give the game a try with a $20 wager. This is when her bet brought her a life-changing $150,000 prize.

Staring at her smartphone screen in disbelief, the winner wasn’t sure whether she was playing in demo mode or with real money.

"When the game finished and $150,000 came up on the screen, I thought to myself: ‘Did I play in demo mode?’," the winner said, recalling the thrilling moment.

While the player thought the $150,000 win couldn’t be real, she soon realized the prize was in fact real.

"It was the best birthday gift ever," the 47-year-old player added.

The Oakland County woman visited the Michigan Lottery to claim her newfound fortune.

Asked about her future plans, the fortunate player said that she will buy a new car and save what’s left.
