66-year-old man takes down the top prize from Michigan Jackpot

The Wayne County man admitted in an interview for an official with the Michigan Lottery that he used to play Michigan Jackpot all the time, but he stopped for a while.

Deciding to come back, the player was surprised by the sweet jackpot prize.

"I logged on to my account and had just started playing when all my numbers lit up and $414,480 came up on the screen. It was unbelievable," the player exclaimed.

As it turns out, the jackpot prize comes at the perfect moment, considering that the Wayne County man already has plans.

"I’m currently in the house hunting process, so thanks to this prize I will have a nice chunk of money for a down payment," the winner revealed.

Besides purchasing a new home, the 66-year-old man said he plans to help others and save some of the windfall for his retirement.

The fortunate man beat the odds of 1 in 5.2m to win the top prize

The cost per play for Michigan Jackpot is $1, and players must select six numbers between 1 and 42.

The overall odds of winning any prize from the popular game are 1 in 5.06.

The jackpot prize, whenever it is won, resets to $50,000 and grows until won.
