The Michigan Lottery is growing its portfolio of instant games with the addition of a new scratch-off ticket, offering a life-changing top prize.
The Lottery confirmed that its newest game, the $8,000,000 Payout scratch-off, launches on March 3, 2026.
As the name of the new game suggests, it grants players a chance to win a whopping $8m top prize and there is a total of three such prizes up for grabs.
The launch of the new $8,000,000 Payout game marks the first-time players in Michigan have a chance to win a prize of such size instantly.
"The $8 million top prize is the largest prize ever offered on a Michigan Lottery instant game," a statement released by the Michigan Lottery confirms.
Each scratch-off ticket costs $50 per play and offers overall odds of winning any prize of 1 in 3.17.
Besides the three top prizes of $8m each, the game offers five-figure tier-two prizes of $10,000.
There are a total of 81 tier-two prizes of $10,000 from the $50 scratch-off ticket.
A tier-three prize would pay out $2,000 and there are 1,953 such prizes in play.
Within the lower prize tiers, between $500 and $50, there are more than 2.3m prizes in play from the $50 instant game.
Besides the largest ever payout from an instant game, the $8,000,000 Payout ticket also offers more than $29m in retailer commissions.
Scratch-off tickets can be purchased via retail outlets across Michigan.
The popular instant games represent a large portion of the Michigan Lottery's offering, considering that in 2024, players won nearly $1.8bn in prizes from such games.
