It is not uncommon for casinos and their patrons to be targeted by criminals.

In one such criminal case from Montana, a man was robbed and choked with a phone charging cord in a casino bathroom.

Magic Diamond casino visitor was attacked and robbed

The crime happened late in 2025 at the Magic Diamond casino in Belgrade, Montana.

The victim was gambling on the casino floor before going to the bathroom after 9 PM on the night of the accident.

Once entering the bathroom, the casino patron was followed by the attacker, who tried strangling him with a phone charging cord.

The victim was forced to surrender the cash he had on him, approximately $1,500, before the suspect fled the scene.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office was contacted at approximately 9:30 PM and officers began investigating the crime, the news outlet 7KBZK reports.

According to Captain Michael Van Meter, the victim met the attacker while he was gambling at the Magic Diamond casino.

Following the attack, the suspect left the premises, while police reviewed CCTV footage and questioned potential witnesses.

While local police haven't recorded an increase in the number of gambling-related crimes recently, the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office Captain encouraged casino patrons to stay vigilant.

"Anytime you're handling significant quantities of cash in public, be very judicious about how you carry yourself, your belongings and your valuables," he explained.

Suspect was arrested and charged

Questioned by the police, the victim described his attacker as a man that is approximately 25 years old.

The attacker had blonde hair and was wearing blue jeans, the robbery victim said.

Using CCTV and witness testimony, it didn't take long for law enforcement to identify the suspect.

Reportedly, police recovered a thrown away jacket that the suspect was wearing.

Concerningly, inspecting the piece of clothing, law enforcement found a syringe with residue of methamphetamine.

Later on, the same night, police discovered the suspect on West Shore Drive in Belgrade.

He was arrested and transported to the Gallatin County Detention Center.

Reportedly, the attacker admitted to the robbery at the casino.

He is now facing charges for criminal possession of illegal substances and robbery.
