An incredibly fortunate man, who used birthday numbers, won a life-changing prize ahead of his birthday.

That's the story of one Frankston, Victoria, Australia, man, who scored the single division one winning entry from Set for Life on Monday.

The entire prize is payable AU$20K per month for 20 years

The lucky player purchased his two-game entry via The Lott's official application.

He entered Set for Life's drawing 3931 on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Set for Life's drawing 3931 saw winning numbers 13, 36, 7, 28, 19, 9 and 8, along with supplementary numbers 42 and 16 drawn.

Interestingly, the fortunate player's entry emerged as the single division one winning entry, entitled to a life-changing prize of AU$4.8m ($3.5m).

The Frankston man's division one prize is the 173rd in the history of Set for Life across Australia.

At the same time, the division one winning entry is the 15th for this financial year.

Scoring the AU$4.8m ($3.5m) top prize, the winner will be looking forward to a sweet AU$20,000 ($14,500) monthly installment payment for the next 20 years.

The lottery windfall comes in the same week as the player’s birthday

The hardworking Frankston man was still sleeping on Tuesday morning after a night shift when an official from The Lott called him.

Initially, the winner ignored his phone, considering he was still sleepy and didn't want to get out of bed.

However, the lottery representative called several times again and finally, the victorious Victorian answered the phone.

"I’ve actually been sleeping! I did a night shift so when you called me at 8am, I thought ‘I’m not answering that’," the winner joked.

However, after receiving four calls, the winner thought, "I'd better answer."

The fortunate player went on to say that winning such a life-changing prize is fantastic, considering that his birthday is this week.

"What a great present. I can’t believe this. Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means. It’s life-changing," the hardworking Frankston man admitted.

It was birthday numbers that resulted in the huge prize, the winner said, acknowledging that this makes the windfall "extra special."

When asked about his plans for his newfound fortune, the victorious Victorian said that he wants to go on holiday.

While the hardworking man admitted that it is unlikely for him to stop working, he said that a vacation with a friend to Bali is on his list.

"I’ll help my family out too. Speaking of, I’ve got to call my parents," the winner added.
