There’s a saying that some people are born lucky and that’s precisely the story of a man who scored life-changing jackpot on his birthday.

The lucky man, a Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia resident holds one of two division one winning entries from The Lott’s Weekday Windfall recent drawing.

Two players score division one wins from Weekday Windfall

The incredibly fortunate player, whose identity wasn’t publicly released, purchased his ticket at Katoomba Newsagency, Shop 1 at 101 Katoomba Street in Katoomba.

Entering Weekday Windfall drawing 4732 on July 22, 2026, he emerged as one of the two division one winners.

Each winning entry was entitled to a life-changing AU$1m ($689,600) prize.

The owner of the retail outlet that sold the winning entry, Simardeep Singh, told an official from The Lott that the Weekday Windfall division one winning marks another life-changing prize won at his shop.

"When I woke up this morning and saw the results, I was so excited that my shop had sold another winning ticket," Singh explained.

Moreover, the shop owner predicted that customers will be excited to hear that a division one winning entry was sold at a local news agency.

"To our division one winner, I want to say: best of luck, spend it wisely, and enjoy the life-changing moment ahead of you," Singh said.

The winner scored the AU$1m prize on his birthday

Interestingly, the incredibly fortunate player didn’t check the lottery ticket on his birthday, which was on the same day as the Weekday Windfall drawing.

It was the next day, on Thursday, when he realized that he had just won AU$1m and contacted The Lott.

If the player had registered their entry via an account with the lottery operator, he would have been contacted.

However, in his case, the lottery had to wait for him to reach out.

Calling The Lott, the Katoomba man admitted that he is still in shock after checking the lottery ticket on Thursday morning.

"It was actually my birthday yesterday and that’s when I won this. It’s pretty amazing to become a millionaire on your birthday," the winner added.

Moreover, the fortunate player said: "This will do me a lot of good at the moment."

In conclusion, the division one winner admitted that this lottery windfall will help him retire.
