One lottery player, who had been playing the same lottery numbers for more than a decade, was surprised by a life-changing million-dollar prize.

The winner, who said he had a sleepless weekend, scored a division one prize from Saturday Lotto's recent draw in Australia.

Five winners to take home AU$1.3m each

Saturday Lotto draw 4645 from Saturday, January 24, 2026, produced a total of five division one winning entries.

Besides the entry of the Willoughby man, there was another winner from New South Wales, as well as one each in Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.

Saturday Lotto's numbers from draw 4645 were 29, 24, 22, 33, 28 and 8, while supplementary numbers were 27 and 19.

The fortunate man's 14-game entry was purchased at Hawthorne Newsagency located at 81 Penshurst Street in Willoughby.

Each of the lucky players scored a life-changing prize of $1,286,587.92 ($898,000).

The player thought he won AU$1,000 but was pleasantly surprised

The lucky winner, when interviewed by an official from The Lott, confirmed that he has been using the same lottery numbers for more than a decade.

"I’ve been playing the same numbers for probably 15 years. They’re nothing special, just a 14-game ticket I played all those years ago and just kept replaying," the winner revealed.

Interestingly, the fortunate player said that he was just about to replay the same lottery numbers when the teller at the newsagency told him that he won a "major prize."

The Sydneysider didn't want to get his hopes up and thought that he had won AU$1,000.

"Then I checked my ticket on The Lott website and I just went 'Oh!'," he added.

He thanked the lottery official and admitted that he couldn't sleep at all, adding that he felt both blessed and happy.

Unlike some lottery players, who tell everyone about their newfound fortune, the Willoughby man said he will keep the win private and admitted to only telling his partner.

With the thought of the life-changing prize sinking in, the winner admitted that together with his partner, they are planning to buy a house.
