A single Saturday Gold Lotto drawing resulted in life-enhancing wins for nearly a dozen lottery players across Australia.
One of them, a Sunshine Coast resident, is already planning life improvements after scoring a six-figure prize.
The fortunate man purchased his winning 25-game QuickPick entry via The Lott's official app.
The Nambour man entered Saturday Gold Lotto's draw 4643 on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Surprisingly, he was among the nine division one winners, entitled to a life-enhancing AU$741,935.70 ($497,500) jackpot each.
Saturday Gold Lotto's draw 4643 saw winning numbers 38, 8, 35, 19, 44 and 9, along with supplementary numbers 23 and 33 drawn.
Besides the Nambour man's entry, there was another division one winner from Queensland, one from New South Wales, as well as three division one winning entries from Victoria and Western Australia.
When contacted by an official from The Lott, the Sunshine Coast resident was shocked and surprised by the good news.
"Oh my god! Division one! Wow. That’s pretty good. Thank you! That’s amazing. It will help a lot. God, I’m lost for words," the winner exclaimed.
The lucky man admitted that while he usually checks the tickets he purchases after the drawing, that wasn't the case on Saturday.
Admitting that he forgot to check the Saturday Gold Lotto ticket over the weekend, the Nambour man acknowledged that he had no idea about the win and never thought that The Lott would be contacting him.
Recalling his previous wins, the Sunshine Coast resident said that in the past, he had only won about AU$30 or AU$40, adding: "I’m just in shock."
With the thought of winning the sweet AU$741,935 ($497,500) jackpot sinking in, the lucky Nambour man admitted that he already has plans about the unexpected windfall.
"I’m already spending it in my head. It’ll wipe out the mortgage, and then it means the money we normally pay towards the mortgage can be ours," the cheerful man said.
