One fortunate woman decided to try an online instant game and was pleasantly surprised by a life-enhancing six-figure win.
Interestingly, the prize came at the perfect time, considering it was the woman's 60th birthday.
On Wednesday, the Michigan Lottery confirmed the win, revealing that one Sanilac County woman scored the top prize from its popular online instant game, Twice as Spice.
The game that the Sanilac County woman selected, Twice as Spice, features cost per play from $0.50 up to $25.00.
Offering a top prize of $250,000, the online instant game features overall odds of winning any prize of 1 in 4.56.
In an interview for an official with the Michigan Lottery, the fortunate 60-year-old woman recalled the day of her birthday when she won the sweet jackpot.
"I was on MichiganLottery.com and saw the Twice as Spice game, so I deposited $50 and gave it a try," the Marlette resident explained.
Moreover, the Sanilac County woman pointed out: "When $250,000 came up on the screen, I couldn’t believe it. It was my 60th birthday which made winning even more exciting!"
Visiting the Lottery headquarters, the fortunate woman claimed the six-figure prize.
Asked about her plans for the newfound fortune, the lucky player admitted that she will buy a new car and then save what's left.
Currently, the Michigan Lottery offers a wide variety of more than 200 different games.
The cost per play starts from $0.05, all the way up to $50.00.
The popularity of online games has been growing since their launch in 2014.
To date, the Michigan Lottery has recorded more than 1 million registered players.
