An incredibly fortunate player from Newport News, won $100,000 after scratching off a ticket while in bed.

The lucky winner, Tamika McGill, purchased several Ca$h Corners Crosswordtickets from M&T Market on 2711 Kecoughtan Road in Hampton, Virginia.

Undoubtedly, the lucky winner did not expect to win one of the top prizes from the popular lottery game.

McGill recently visited the Virginia Lottery to claim her winnings.

When asked what she plans to do with the win, she said she will give some to her children and also buy a car.

"I'm just so shocked," explained the lucky winner in a statement released by the Lottery.

She added: "This is my first time ever winning this much!"

Plenty of prizes remain up for grabs from the Ca$h Corners Crossword ticket.

The cost per play for the Virginia Lottery's Ca$h Crossword Corners is $5.

The instant game grants a chance for prizes between $5 and $100,000.

The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 1,224,000, while the overall odds of winning a prize from the instant game are 1 in 4.01.

The recent $100,000 win was the third grand prize from the popular scratch-off game. At the launch of Ca$h Corners Crossword, there were a total of six such prizes, which means that three are up for grabs.

Besides the $100,000 top prize, the lottery game offers a second-tier prize of $5,000. At the launch of the instant game, there were 30 such prizes and currently, there are 18 that are yet to be claimed.

The amazing feeling of winning $100,000 while in bed

Asked about the recent win, McGill said that she purchased several tickets and then went home.

Once she got into bed, she decided to scratch off one of the tickets.

Sadly, the first Ca$h Corners Crossword ticket didn't win anything.

However, once McGill scratched off the second ticket, she was shocked to realize that she won one of the grand prizes.

The lucky winner explained: "I had to do a triple-, double-take!"

Speaking about the aftermath of the win, the woman admitted she was sleepy but was also "tossing and turning all night."
