An avid lottery player from Wayne County in Michigan said that winning a big prize from the lottery "just feels good."
The Van Buren Township resident is the latest player to score a life-changing prize from the Michigan lottery's Lucky For Life game.
The fortunate winner purchased her ticket from Canton Mini Mart at 42421 Cherry Hill Road in Canton.
The woman, who said she likes playing the lottery, matched correctly five of the winning numbers drawn on Lucky For Life's draw from February 9, 2025.
To win the hefty prize of $25,000 a year for life, the player matched winning numbers 08, 13, 22,28 and 39.
Had the Wayne County woman guessed correctly the Lucky Ball too, she would've won the game's top prize for $1,000 a day for life.
In an interview for a Michigan Lottery official, the 51-year-old woman said: "I am an avid Lottery player and have always dreamed of winning a huge prize."
In addition, the fortunate lottery player pointed out: "When I checked the ticket at the retailer, none of us could believe what we were seeing!"
The Van Buren Township woman admitted that she always thought of how winning the lottery might feel but didn't expect to be able to experience this unique thrill and excitement.
"Winning just feels good," the lucky woman exclaimed.
Visiting the Michigan Lottery headquarters, the 51-year-old woman was presented with a choice: to collect a one-time lump cash sum or receive annuity payments of $25,000 a year for the next 20 years or life, whichever is greater.
Not unexpectedly, the woman picked the former option and saw her back account grow by $390,000, before the applicable state and federal taxes.
Asked about her plans regarding the newfound fortune, the woman said she considers purchasing a house.
Lucky For Life costs $2 per play and grants players a shot at winning prizes that start from $3 all the way up to the game's top prize of $1,000 a day for life.
To win the top prize from Lucky For Life, players need to match five numbers between 1 and 48, along with one Lucky Ball number between 1 and 18.
Matching five winning numbers without the Lucky Ball awards a tier-two prize of $25,000 a year for life, such as the one recently won by the Wayne County resident.
