A lucky lottery player undoubtedly had an unforgettable weekend after scoring a progressive jackpot from a newly launched game in Maryland.

On Friday, the Maryland Lottery confirmed that one fortunate ticket holder scored a life-altering six-figure jackpot from its new FAST PLAY 20X Cash game.

First FAST PLAY 20X Cash jackpot drops

Tickets for the new $20 FAST PLAY game were first released on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Days later, on Thursday, a ticket purchased in Gaithersburg scored the game's first jackpot for a sweet $311,795 payout.

Not much is known about the fortunate player who won the first jackpot from the new FAST PLAY 20X Cash game.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Giant grocery store located at 46 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County.

The retailer that sold the ticket will benefit from a hefty $1,000 bonus, the Maryland Lottery confirmed.

The $312,000 progressive jackpot ticket holder now has six months to claim his big win.

The Lottery urged the winner to sign the back of their winning ticket and keep it in a safe place until they collect the prize.

More prizes, including 19 jackpots, remain in play

Each $20 FAST PLAY 20X Cash ticket grants players a chance to win a range of non-changing prizes between $40 and $10,000.

The game's top prize is a progressive jackpot, which starts at $300,000 and increases with each ticket sold in the game.

After a player wins the jackpot, it resets to $300,000 and starts growing again.

Considering that the Gaithersburg resident won the first prize, there are 19 more jackpots remaining in play from the FAST PLAY 20X Cash game.

What's really surprising is that the first top prize was won only days after the ticket was introduced on September 8, 2025.

Within the lower-tier prizes, 33 out of 33 prizes of $10,000 each remain in play, while 108 out of 109 prizes of $4,000 each are also up for grabs.

At the time of writing, the FAST PLAY 20X Cash jackpot is an estimated $310,335.

The overall odds of winning any prize from the $20 game are 1 in 4.79.
