BetMGM players sets record with largest online jackpot

A BetMGM player has made history by winning the largest online jackpot in slot history in the United States. The iGaming platform has celebrated the achievement of a player who turned a $200 bet playing Fruit Blaster, a popular progressive jackpot game, into the mind-boggling $6.4m.

This is the largest amount recorded in the regulated iGaming market in the United States to date and an eye-watering sum by all estimates. The achievement prompted a quick response from the casino which sent a press release to the media and boasted about the amount won.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said that the player who won on August 19 had made history, and that "The Big One" progressive jackpot made the summer more exciting for players who watched the sum build over the past several months and remain unclaimed.

"It’s been a summer filled with anticipation watching the progressive jackpot grow quickly to record levels. This win is the latest proof that BetMGM Casino is the premier destination for progressive jackpots and unforgettable experiences," Greenblatt noted.

The Big One had been climbing up for quite some time. In February this year, the jackpot already hit $4m and continued to progress unclaimed. The jackpot is linked across several brands and websites, including BetMGM, Borgata, Wheel of Fortune Casino and Party Casino in New Jersey alone.

As to the game itself, it has been an absolute blockbuster, not least owing to its huge jackpot potential, but also the skilled work that has gone into crafting it overall. Developed in-house by Entain, the title focuses on rather familiar and straightforward winning combinations and symbols, such as cherries, lemons, and plums.

This simplicity mixed with the game’s nostalgia has led to a sustained interest in the title and its broader implications as a leading jackpot game.
