One lucky lottery winner in Australia was in disbelief and admitted to experiencing heart palpitations after scoring a sweet six-figure prize.
Earlier this week, The Lott released details regarding the fortunate winner, a Noble Park man who scored AU$100,000 from a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.
The lucky man, a resident of the City of Greater Dandenong, holds a 1st Prize winning entry from the recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw on Monday.
Matching correctly the winning numbers, the fortunate man scored a 1st Prize of AU$100,000 from the game's draw 11035.
Both Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot are raffle-style games.
Unlike other lottery games, in those two lottery games, there is a specific number of tickets for each draw and considering that every ticket is unique, prizes are not shared.
Undoubtedly, Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot are popular games, considering that in 2024, tens of millions in prize money were awarded.
In fact, the two games made 147 people rich thanks to 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries amounting to AU$52.2m.
The lucky winner was notified by a Lottery official via a phone call about the prize he won.
However, the Noble Park man was initially in disbelief and admitted that he thought those calls were just a prank.
Even more, the winner didn't pick up the phone on a few occasions, thinking that winning AU$100,000 sounded too good to be true.
Giving the benefit of the doubt, the lottery player decided to check his ticket by accessing his account with The Lott online.
"I was having heart palpitations as I logged into my online account and checked my ticket. I couldn’t believe it," the man admitted.
Moreover, the winner said: "I woke up this morning, and I thought it might’ve all been a dream."
Asked about his intentions for the newfound fortune, the fortunate man said he is still having a hard time believing he won such a prize, which is why he doesn't have immediate plans.
