Aussie woman wins $1m using decade-old numbers

A seasoned lottery player from New South Wales, Australia, who has been playing with the same numbers for a decade, was surprised by a life-altering AU$1m ($661,615) jackpot.

On Thursday, The Lott released details regarding the fortunate Hunter River resident who scored the top prize from a recent Weekday Windfall drawing.

Weekday Windfall brings life-changing prize to Hunter River resident

While the identity of the woman wasn't publicly confirmed, The Lott said that her 14-game winning entry was purchased at Singleton Mall Newsagency, Shop 23B Mall Shopping Centre located at 1 Gowrie Street in Singleton.

The incredibly fortunate woman holds the single division one winning entry from Weekday Windfall's draw 4600 on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

The winning numbers for this draw were 22, 20, 44, 42, 23 and 17 and supplementary numbers 35 and 18 were also drawn.

Weekday Windfall is one of the popular games offered by The Lott.

Since the start of the year, so far, there are 310 division one winning entries across Australia.

Out of that total, 85 entries came from lottery customers from New South Wales.

On the other hand, for the FY25 period, Weekday Windfall helped make 94 people across Australia millionaires, who collectively won AU$105m ($69.5m).

Decade-old numbers brought the lottery windfall

The Hunter River resident was contacted early on Thursday morning by an official from The Lott.

While the woman missed the lottery's first call, she picked up the second time.

"Thank you! Oh my, I don’t know what to say. This feels a bit surreal. It’s wonderful," the winner said.

Moreover, the fortunate woman added: "I was just doing some baking today, and I had to run to the phone, but I just missed your first call. I’m glad you called a second time!"

The Singleton woman admitted that she has been playing with the same numbers since the lottery started.

However, on previous occasions, the woman had only won about AU$100.

The woman admitted that her newfound fortune comes at the best time, considering that she is currently in between jobs.

"I know I have a million things I want to do, but my mind has gone blank right now," the winner added.

Finally, the winner thanked the lottery for the eye-watering prize and said she never thought she would get such a call.
