On the heels of the promotion of Andrea Bossard to the role of Vice President, Engineering back in January, the company confirmed earlier this week the promotion of Zachary Kastelic.
In a news release, GLI confirmed that Kastelic, who was previously Associate General Counsel, was elevated to the role of Vice President of Legal.
Taking on this new role, the executive will oversee GLI's legal department.
Kastelic's responsibilities will include general corporate matters, litigation and due diligence.
He will also focus on strategic processes, including contacts and communication, ensuring GLI successfully navigates complex requirements and regulations in jurisdictions across the globe.
It was back in 2022 when Kastelic's career with GLI started.
At the time, he was appointed as Assistant Corporate Counsel. As noted, prior to his most recent appointment, he was already holding a senior-level role as Associate General Counsel.
Prior to his tenure at GLI, Kastelic was employed by PlayUp Limited.
At the time, he held the important role of Vice President of Compliance.
Undoubtedly the executive brings solid experience to the new role.
Kastelic holds a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
In addition, he has a Bachelor's Degree from Ottawa University.
What's more, Kastelic holds a Sports Wagering and Integrity Certificate from UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.
GLI's new Vice President of Legal is also a member of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the Missouri Bar Association and the Kansas Bar Association.
James Maida, GLI's President and CEO, shared his excitement about the latest promotion.
"Compliance is our primary responsibility to the global gaming industry, and our legal team, alongside with our compliance teams, are at the forefront of our compliance efforts," he explained.
Finally, Maida pointed out: "I am very pleased that Zachary will be leading our global legal team helping to ensure we maintain the very highest levels of compliance as we continue to lead the industry in new technologies."
