The United Kingdom Gambling Commission has once again issued a penalty this week, targeting Star Racing Limited, operating Star Sports, with a £594,000 fine over social responsibility and anti-money laundering breaches.

This is the first time the regulator has targeted Star Sports. The regulator said that the enforcement was necessitated because of deficiencies registered in the period between March 2020 and May 2021. This makes the latest penalty in a long series of enforcement actions that the regulator has taken this year.

As a reminder, the United Kingdom is currently running public consultations on a revision of the country’s gambling laws, with legislators and consumers calling for more player protection in the industry.

Meanwhile, Mateusz Juroszek, STS Chief Executive Officer, and his family invested in Gaming Innovation Group this week to become the largest shareholder in the company.

Sportradar andCaesars Sportsbook have strengthened their partnership with the companies agreeing to collaborate on the provision of optical tracking data from the NBA. This will allow Caesars to strengthen the quality of its in-play sports betting markets and provide greater value to customers.

Both companies welcomed the opportunity to continue working together and building a strong relationship over the coming years.
