The global media and technology company focusing on sports betting data and content, Spotlight Sports Group (SSG), announced a senior-level appointment Wednesday. The company revealed that it appointed Mark Renshaw to serve as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Renshaw was previously a part of the company for more than 14 years and most recently served as Chief Operations Officer (COO). He now steps into the position of Alan Byrne, who will remain a part of the company as a director.

In addition, according to SSG, Byrne will assume a new advisory role, while Renshaw's appointment is effective immediately. By announcing the leadership change, the company seeks to expand significantly within the US and UK regulated markets. Considering the recent leadership change, Renshaw will be spearheading SSG's future expansion.

SSG's former CEO, Byrne, commented in a statement released on November 16, 2022, saying that he is excited to see Renshaw succeed him. Byrne added: "He has been at the heart of most of the best things SSG has achieved in recent years and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him." Finally, he said: "I know Mark has all of the skills required to lead the excellent SSG team and will continue to drive the growth of the company in the UK, North America and beyond."

On the other hand, Renshaw added: "Alan, I and our management team have spent the last few months crystallizing exactly where we can accelerate growth and find new areas of opportunity." What's more, he pointed out that it is exciting to lead the company on a clear path toward further expansion.

Renshaw thanked Byrne for his dedication and acknowledged that thanks to his hard work, SSG has a strong foundation for significant expansion. Focusing on SSG's team, the new CEO commended them for their hard work on leading brands such as Pickwise in North America and Racing Post in the UK.

Last but not least, Renshaw said: "I'm equally excited about our global B2B division, which allows our sportsbook, publishing and fantasy sports partners to leverage our products, content and conversion-led expertise to drive sustainable and attributable revenue growth."

SSG was founded nearly four decades ago. By now, the company is undoubtedly an expert in actionable betting content and owns multiple famous affiliate brands within the fantasy sports and sports betting verticals. Its list of partners continues to grow and by now SSG has active deals with leading operators around the world.
