SBC reveals names of shortlists for Game Developer Awards 2023

The Game Developer Awards, part of the CasinoBeats Summit 2023, are one of the most looked-forward events this year. Taking place on May 25, the Awards format will have 400 guests in attendance and be presented by Trudy Kerr. Before a winner may be selected, though, the nominees should be known, and this is what SBC has done with its latest announcement, revealing the names of the hopefuls to secure more accolades from the prestigious industry gathering.

Amongst the companies nominated for an award are ELK Studios, which holds six nominations with Light & Wonder and Blueprint Gaming holding five nominations each. Then, there is Relax Gaming, which has been nominated in ten different categories, demonstrating the company’s incredible momentum this year.

There are many categories to speak of here, including "Streamer of the Year" which will focus not so much on individual games, as much as on the people who have helped promote and popularize streaming on slots. Some of the names include xQc, CasinoDaddy, Trainwreckstv, and others.

Another interesting part of the format includes the Game Performance categories, which includes the Slot of the Year category where Pragmatic Play and RelaxGaming will probably go head-to-head. Relax is bringing Dead Riders Trail and Money Train 3 to contest the title, and one of the most important distinctions this year.

Then, there is the Best Studio Debut Game category which will see quite the competition with Mustang Freedom by Barbara Bang, Barti’s Treasure by Wild Gaming, Dog Days by Nailed It! Games, and Wildfire West by Rogue all trying to secure a distinction.

The Slot Legacy Category will see quite a few familiar names and contestants, including NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest and Starburst, and not least – Blueprint Gaming’s Deal or No Deal, Fishin Frenzy, and Ted.

There are other prominent nominations and categories to speak of. One of the judged verticals is Slot Collaboration of the Year, which will have six contenders. There is also the Slot to Watch category, where three of the nine games on the list are once again the handiwork of Relax Gaming, including Money Train Origins Dream Drop, Cluster Tumble Dream Drop, and not least – Money Train 4.

SBC Founder & CEO Rasmus Sojmark made an official comment about the upcoming event, hailing it as a great milestone.
