BGaming is continuing to burnish its sustainability and social responsibility credentials by launching a new project in this vein in Portugal. Through its WE CARE. WE ACT initiative, BGaming has incorporated recycled materials into its SBC Summit stand and merchandise.
The company has similarly supported the non-profit organization VIVA Lab as part of the same effort and initiative, as well as joined a beach clean-up in Lisbon, Portugal, where the event took place.
Alexandra Baltazar, Chief Education Officer at VIVA Lab Porto said, commenting on the support:
"This partnership has been very important for VIVA Lab because it allows us to reach and inspire more young people through Plastic Play, using plastic recycling as a hands-on tool for learning about sustainability and the circular economy."
The goal has been to ensure that the WE CARE. WE ACT initiative is not exclusively limited to SBC Summit’s exhibition floor, but has a meaningful impact on the community, BGaming shared in a press statement.
BGaming CMO Kate Puteiko had this to add, commenting on the project: "WE CARE. WE ACT is not just a slogan for us; it is a principle we operate by. Lisbon is such a marvelous city, and it welcomes the entire industry every year for the expo. We want to make sure that we, as part of the industry, give back to Portugal."
BGaming has been extensively using digital materials shared via a QR code, which has allowed the company to save 16 kg of paper. Furthermore, BGaming included a line made from organic, eco-friendly cotton, as well as custom poker sets made from 100% recycled plastic, with the gifts shared by BGaming using a total of 7 kg of recycled plastic.
In parallel, BGaming is supporting VIVA Lab’s Precious Plastic project and Plastic Play educational activities through a series of 10 activities and 240 students who will learn how to reuse and transform plastic.
An estimated 60-70 kg of plastic will be used for these initiatives, once again giving it a new purpose.
