SBC continues to actively seek and empower women in the sports betting and iGaming industries, with the latest effort coming in the form of the appositely called WomenEmpowerment Initiative (WE).
The goal of WE is to connect and educate, as well as empower women, but to also nurture strong relationships within the sector and inspire the next generation of women leaders. The initiative will get even more attention as it is planned as part of the upcoming SBC Summit that will be taking place at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa on September24-26.
The initiative has already reunited a number of local and international organizations that are similarly determined to empower female leaders. These organizations include:
The SBC Summit itself is a major opportunity for the WE’s core message to reach the most people possible, with more than 25,000 delegates expected to show up and attend one of the most significant industry get-togethers.
"As an event organiser, we are committed to providing a space for women in our male-dominated industry to discuss what matters to them. We are very pleased with the overwhelming support from our allies worldwide," said SBC VP of Relationships LatAm, Lucía Mouriño.
SBC has a proven track record in helping address challenges that women face in the industry, and has already hosted dedicated panels and discussions as part of its broader event portfolio. For example, CasinoBeats Summit which was held last May held an entire day dedicated to women in gaming.
However, SBC does not intend to stop there. Rather than one-off events, SBC wants to create an ongoing initiative that is available throughout the year and builds from one event to the next, putting more focus on women in the gambling industry and across its multifarious sectors.
"As we embark on this initiative, it's important to honour and celebrate both an established legacy and an emerging star committed to empowering her peers, without waiting for everything to be perfectly in place," Mouriño concluded.
