SBC Confirms: Sporting CP’s Estádio José Alvalade to Host Legends Charity Game

• SBC Summit has now officially locked the two teams for the upcoming Legends Charity Game
• The event is set to take place on Monday, September 15, 2025
• This is the first of several similar games to take place through 2030

The inaugural Legends Charity Game, hosted by Sport Global, and celebrated as a seminal part of the upcoming SBC Summit 2025, will take place at Sporting CP’s Estádio José Alvalade, and will be the first of a series of similar events that is set to run annually through 2030.

This celebrated event will bring two teams of soccer talent, pitting the so-called Portugal Legends versus the World Legends, and will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025. The event will seek to raise €1m for charity with the kick-off set for 20:00.

A pre-game show is set to start at 19:40, while a half-time performance by Calema will keep audiences entertained. The Portugal Legends team will be led by LuísFigo, who welcomed the chance to participate in this exciting soccer clash:

"It’s always a pleasure to come back to my country and play football! Hope to see a full stadium in my hometown, Lisbon, for this amazing Legends Charity Game and raise funds for important charity causes."

The team will also feature other soccer heavyweights, to wit Ricardo Quaresma, Nani, Eliseu, Bruno Alves, Ricardo Carvalho, FábioCoentrão, Maniche, Pauleta, Vítor Baía, José Bosingwa, and Deco. Other legends joining the team include Beto, Jorge Andrade, Dani, TiagoMendes, Simão, Hélder Postiga, Nuno Gomes, with Constinha taking the manager position.

Gomes, a legendary soccer player for Portugal, was also similarly pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this game:

"Being called up to represent Portugal has always carried a deep sense of responsibility and national pride, and that feeling is no different ahead of the upcoming Legends Charity Match. Supporting those less fortunate has long been a personal priority."

The Portugal Legends will, of course, go up against a similarly star-studded team of rivals in the World Legends team.

Among the players to take to the stadium on Monday, September 15 are such heavy hitters as "Kaká, Peter Schmeichel (Manager), Petr Cech, Edwin van der Sar, Rene Higuita, Carles Puyol, Roberto Carlos, John Terry, Cafu, Javier Zanetti, Marco Materazzi, Gheorghe Hagi, Youri Djorkaeff, Christian Karembeu, Krasimir Balakov, Gaizka Mendieta, Marek Hamsik, Javier Saviola, Michael Owen, Henrik Larsson, Alessandro Del Piero, and Hristo Stoichkov."
