Sao Paulo awards 15-year lottery contract to joint venture

The global leaders in lottery technology, Scientific Games and Brightstar Lottery, united to form SP Loterias SPE S.A. (SPL) and execute a new concession agreement for the operation of a new lottery in Sao Paulo State, Brazil.

The newly founded joint venture won a 15-year contract

SPL was formed under the terms of a new alliance between Brightstar Lottery PLC's subsidiary, Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, and Scientific Games.

As the recipient of a concession awarded by the Government of the State of Sao Paulo, the newly founded company gains exclusive state licensing rights for the lottery in Sao Paulo.

Holding the exclusive state license for lottery operations, SPL will provide its services in the next 15 years.

To ensure that the company is equipped to meet the demands of the local players, it will leverage technology from both Scientific Games and Brightstar Lottery.

Ultimately, SPL will deliver draw-based, instant, as well as eInstant games available online and at retail venues.

Moreover, Sao Paulo lottery players will benefit from passive lottery games.

Thanks to this offering, the State of Sao Paulo will generate funds for healthcare investments and other vital programs.

Michael Conforti, Scientific Games' President of International, spoke with excitement about the latest alliance, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
