Rank Group selects Sam Allanson for CFO role of Rank Interactive

Globally-recognized gambling company, The Rank Group Plc, announced a new senior-level appointment, seeking to further strengthen its C-suite. The company revealed last week that it selected the gambling executive with extensive experience, Sam Allanson, for the role of Chief Financial Officer of Rank Interactive. Upon announcing the appointment, The Rank Group confirmed that the executive will fill in his new role later this year.

In his new role as Chief Financial Officer of Rank Interactive, Allanson will report to Rank Group's CFO, Richard Harris, and will continue to be based in Gibraltar. Allanson delivers a wide industry experience after being a part of globally-recognized companies within the gambling vertical.

Throughout his extensive career within the sector, he held senior-level roles with Sky plc. Additionally, Allanson was also a Commercial Finance Director with Ladbrokes. Back in June 2017, he joined Entain. Currently, Allanson holds the role of Commercial Finance Director at Entain where he oversees strategic value-adding financial initiatives.

In a statement released by The Rank Group, Allanson shared his excitement about the latest announcement. "Rank Interactive is one of the most exciting places to be right now in the betting and gaming industry, as the business continues to grow and play a larger part in the success of the overall Group," he said.

Moreover, Allanson said that he will leverage his extensive experience and help propel Rank Interactive's growth within the online vertical while supporting its seasoned team of financial experts. Finally, the new Chief Financial Officer of Rank Interactive pointed out: "I am excited to be part of a senior management team with such a clear vision for growth."

Richard Harris, Rank Group's Chief Financial Officer, welcomed Allanson to the growing team of experts at the company's interactive business. "His experience in consumer-facing businesses, particularly in betting and gaming, will be extremely valuable as we continue to implement our strategy," he explained. "Building our financial capabilities across the Group is an important cornerstone of Rank’s ambitions to excite and entertain our customers, a vision Sam shares with us," pointed out Harris in conclusion.

The recent news comes after early last month, The Rank Group announced another senior-level appointment. At the time, the company confirmed it hired Andrew Peat for the role of Managing Director of Rank Interactive. Similar to the appointment of Allanson, the company said that Peat will become a part of Rank Interactive's senior-management team later this year.
