SBC Summit Lisbon, one of the most anticipated and leading sports betting and gaming events, taking place in Portugal, is near its end.

This year's summit marked the first time the flagship event is taking place in Portugal.

Not unexpectedly, the SBC Summit helped attract recognizable gaming operators, industry experts and stakeholders, who joined forces at the exciting three-day exhibition.

Opening the prestigious event was Portugal's Minister of Economy, Pedro Reis, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The significant attendance at SBC Summit Lisbon speaks for the popularity of the event, especially considering that its attendance saw an uptick of 67%.

As one of the most-anticipated events in the gaming sector, the SBC Summit used a total of 110,000 square meters of exhibition space and welcomed delegates, experts, entrepreneurs and guests between September 24 and September 26.

One of the highlights of the event was the SBC Leaders Summit, an exclusive invite-only event taking place at Myriad by Sana Hotel.

This C-suite-level event gathered recognizable leaders, experts and even inventors like Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who invented World Wide Web, and participated as a speaker.

The financial side of the event is also impressive as the SBC Summit is expected to generate up to €100m in economic benefits for Portugal's budget, providing a vital boost for a range of sectors, including tourism and hospitality, among others.

Throughout the three-day event, many celebrities, including UFC Champion Merab Dvalishvili, Laura Woods, the famous British sports broadcaster and Tony Hawk, the globally recognizable skateboarding legend and entrepreneur, participated in different events.

Portugal's Minister of Economy isn't the only high-profile guest who has attended the prestigious networking event.

Previously, SBC Summits welcomed a range of recognizable politicians, including New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Dale Nally, the Minister of Service and Red Tape Reduction in Alberta, as well as Rio de Janeiro Governor Cláudio Castro, among others.

Rasmus Sojmark, SBC's CEO and Founder, welcomed Pedro Reis to the event and said that it is thrilling to hold the first SBC in Lisbon, Portugal.

Sojmark spoke about the extensive presence of 600 exhibitors and more than 25,000 delegates from all around the world.

He pointed to those numbers, saying that they reaffirm the importance of the SBC Summit and its growth.

Sojmark explained that while this is the first SBC event in Lisbon, it helps create unique growth opportunities for the famous city.

Last but not least, he thanked everyone involved in the process that helped bring the SBC Summit to Lisbon.
