  • Peter Schmeichel, a legendary soccer star, will be returning to co-host the SBC Awards in 2025
  • This will be the 12th edition of the seminal award ceremony, which will reunite the industry’s elite
  • SBC CEO and Founder is confident that SBC Awards will distinguish the most worthwhile companies in the industry, with the shortlist already available

SBC Events has more exciting news to share with industry specialists, as the company will be hosting the 12th edition of the SBC Awards at the upcoming SBC Summit 2025. The event will be taking place at Lisbon’s MEO Arena on Thursday, September 18, and will be the crowning celebration that wraps up the industry get-together.

The shortlist has already been revealed, with companies such as Pragmatic Play, Sportradar, BetConstruct, Betsson Group, Bragg Gaming, Campeon Gaming, Novibet, Playtech, and Top Beat, all listed across various categories, and in certain cases – across multiple categories per brand.

Some are reigning and defending champions, while others will try to pry away a distinction anew. The event will be co-hosted by former Manchester United goalkeeper and UEFA European Championship winner Peter Schmeichel, who has already done the honors once before, and will be doing so again.

SBC CEO and Founder Rasmus Sojmark was similarly pleased with the developments and commented on the upcoming ceremony, which is an important part of SBC Summit:

"This industry never stands still. New talent, ideas, and technologies are constantly changing the game. The SBC Awards are our way of recognising those who are making a real impact and giving the community a moment to celebrate together."

The event will also see other contenders, such as SOFTSWISS and Play’n GO, Flutter Entertainment, and others.

The Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year category will have BGaming, EveryMatrix and Pay4Fun, as well as Associação de Mulheres da Indústria do Gaming, vie for the distinction. Meanwhile, the supplier categories will offer 22 different awards, including the Crash Game of the Year and Aggregator of the Year categories, which are brand new for this year’s upcoming edition!

Other interesting parts of the awards will include the Platform Provider of the Year award, which will see the likes of Sportingtech, GR8 Tech, GiG, EGT Digital, and White Hat Gaming compete for a distinction and win the top accolade.
